It’s like, really crazy to me that April is already over. Anyone else?
I only started this What I Loved series last month and I thought I had ages before I’d get to be writing another one. To be honest, I was worried I wouldn’t have enough exciting moments and new products to share with you guys. HAH. Wishful thinking 😉
If anything this month was crazier than March, and March. Wuz. MAD.
Let’s get to it, because I gotta lot to go through for this month!
I just made up this category (I think i’ll be doing that as I continue to write these) because we took a gazillion photos during this weekend, and I want to share em! I went up to Killarney with one of my close friends last weekend, and we had such a fun time.
Killarney is a town of like 500 people, and is about a 4 hour drive from Toronto. Think – deer, mountains, lakes, beers and boats. YEP. I needed that.
It was a super relaxing weekend to say the least… Minus the 3.5 hour hike we did on the Saturday. It was seriously a rock climb at some parts, and required the ULTIMATE mountain goat-ing skills. At the top was so gorgeous, and the lakes looked beautiful. Paired with the super white rocks we were climbing on, it almost seemed like a winter wonderland.
I thought I was going to die when I did this workout, but luckily, I did not. I posted it on Snapchat the other day (@beverleyc), but in caseeee you missed it, here it is:
15 Minutes AMRAP
1. Deadlifts x 10
2. Burpee to Pull up x 10
3. Front racked double kettlebell lunges x 10/leg
4. Toes to Bar x 10
5. Double-unders x 50 OR Regular skips x 100
So many favorite moments this month, but two of them really pushed my modeling side-gig/career slightly further.
I mentioned that last March I flew to Vancouver to shoot with Lululemon. The photos from that shoot got posted on their website and sent out on their email blast. Always exciting to see yourself on a major company’s website!
The second shoot I did this month was with Reebok. I have never worked with Reebok before on anything before this, so this was a really awesome opportunity.
All of this was for their summer 2017 line, so there were the classic CrossFit, combat, and running outfits. But things got slightly wild after that for their studio/athleisure wear. They wanted big make-up and big hair, so I got REALLLL glammed up. I’ve never had to mix sports bras and teased hair before, so that was a bit of a new one. I had to change up my normal poses and bring out the ‘flirty’ side of me. America’s Next Top Model, here I come! 😉
While I’m on the subject of Reebok, I MUST tell you about these new shoes that I bought. I feel like a bit of a lemming for buying these because EVERYONE in Toronto owns a pair of white sneakers. But screw it. I loved how they looked.
Favorite Sleep Aid
Ya i’m still sleeping pretty badly (are you bored of my sob story yet? Well, TOO BAD). I went to see my doctor about it last week and she gave me a bunch of Sleep Hygiene tips (post to come later on this!) as well as a sleeping pill prescription.
I really hate taking medication if it’s not necessary (although i’m sure some would say staying awake till 4 am is necessary) so I have been making do with some other alternatives. My friend recommended this Divine Sleep Yoga Nidra soundtrack for me to listen to. It’s a meditative one and the woman in it is superrrr calming. I had almost fallen asleep to it, but then my cat started snoring from underneath the bed (no, i’m not kidding) and I was screwed.
Still! I was really impressed that I almost was put to sleep by it, and I will continue to use it. Definitely check it out if you have problems falling asleep. It’s amazing.
