What I Ate Wednesday: Goodbye Summer/Hello Fall!

Hi friends!

As summer comes to and end I am PROFOUNDLY saddened. Don’t get me wrong – fall is awesome. I have nothing, nothing against fall. Aside from the fact that it isn’t summer.

Pumpkin recipes and naughty cat outfits are pretty much the only thing that keeps me going. Oh, and the newly orange leaves on a tree. And cats dressed up as pumpkins. Those things are quite nice. Surprisingly I have yet to get into a can of pumpkin puree and bombard you with my results of baking addiction. Soon it will come; just wait.

I haven’t done a WIAW in a couple weeks because I haven’t really been around much. As some of my previous posts mentioned, I was in Calgary visiting my family and eating all their food. The following weekend I was in Ottawa for a wedding. As soon as you start taking away my weekends, that takes away from my time to sit and write a post or take photos, or whatever else it is that bloggers do. But luckily I was here this past weekend where I ate some dimsum and got some last minute tickets to the baseball game! Go Jays!!

In other exciting news (no seriously, this is literally one of the most boring posts I think i’ve ever written), I have started going to the gym again! I took LITERALLY, three weeks off from the gym (minus two days in Calgary but dat.don’t.count). I just did a bunch of outdoor HIIT workouts, did some hot yoga, got in a run or two, but did not see the squat rack or bench press for 21 days. And for that, I congratulate myself.

Anyway, I was back at the gym again starting Monday, and JESUS, I am so sore already. It’s one thing to rip your legs apart doing a lower-body circuit, but it’s a whole different ball game when you’re set up on the squat rack. I am already looking forward to  next week where my muscles will have started to get stronger and the DOMS will be less painful.

  1. I always have mixed feelings this time of year. I love fall, but it’s the gateway to winter and I know it’s going to be a long time before summer comes again. That egg-avocado-toast business looks delicious!

      mmm it was! my favorite breakfast. Haha and yes, the time between the end of summer and beginning of summer is just unfairly long

    UGH!!! I WISH I COULD BE SAYING HELLO FALL right now, but no. No. Los Angeles thinks it is still summer with 90 + degree weather.
