October is OVA.
It’s been busy at home, at work, at the gym, on the blog. But literally as I type this, i’m trying to think of something that happened recently and my mind is a blank.
You know when people ask you “how are things going?” and people automatically respond with “Good, and you?”
I’m always trying to think of something interesting to respond with, because I think the former is such boring way out for a conversation. Also, ya know – you asked. Questions are never rhetoric in my world.
Anyway, the other day my bosses boss asked me what was new with me, and I just had nothing to respond with. I guess so much has happened its hard to pin point one thing, so instead I just stared at him for a few seconds. Then I said something lame about renovating our new condo and I know in his mind he was like ‘yea yea, heard it all before. God damn you’re boring Beverley.”
I’m 100% sure that’s what he thought.
Anyway, my boring brain aside, there are some things that I am absolutely loving this month and really want to share with you guys!
When I initially received this product, I didn’t think I would have any use for it – my yoga mat has been used like, 4 times since I’ve gotten it. But my friend told me that it can be used for basically ANYTHING stinky or in need of a refreshing spray. And since I sweat a lot, and you know, have feet, things get kind of stinky around here.
I have used this spray (embarrassingly) on the armpits of both my Arcteryx and Helly Hanson jackets, since I tend to work up a sweat in those. I also spray it in the shoes that I keep in my drawer at work (6 pairs and counting)! I’ve even used it inside my helmet, since I’m always subjecting it to sitting atop my sweaty head post-workout.
You may remember that I did a photoshoot with Athleta back in July – we flew up to Northern BC and shot in some of the most beautiful and pristine areas I will ever lay eyes on. To be honest I had kind of forgotten about the shoot completely, until a friend tagged me in a photo she found in their catalog!
Half the time I never even see the photos i’ve done (unless they’re used for web), so it was a really cool thing seeing myself on paper. She kindly sent me the catalog to flip through, so I’ve blown it up and framed it in our living room. Winston really seems to like it.
Seafolly Active Wear
I’ve been a Seafolly fan ever since they sent me their Jungle bikini (which was a massive upgrade from my $40 H&M bikini) and they have recently started getting into active wear. They sent me the CUTEST outfit complete with leggings, a matching sports bra, and light weight jacket. I said to Adam how nice it was to receive workout products like this in the mail, as when I normally buy workout gear, it’s always functional, reasonably priced, and not that exciting.
However, I love love love this matching floral outfit. I may not work up a sweat in the jacket, but I sure can walk around Toronto in it and feel stylish and fit. Also with the rise of athleisure, everyone and their mom is looking fly at the gym. I gotta keep up with the times. Check out their full line here.
This month I decided to treat myself to something non-fitness related for once: a Botkier shoulder bag! Once again – a huge upgrade from my $40 H&M one (is everything there priced at $40?)
I am obsessed with all the handbags and purses from Botkier. They remind me of Balenciaga, with a bit more structure and lines, and a lot friendlier to my wallet. Seriously though, if you’re into unique designs and some high quality craftmanship, definitely check them out. I feel so much more mature when I carry this bag than my other flimsy, piece of crap one.
This one you have probably already heard of, but it bears repeating. WATCH. WESTWORLD. WATCH IT. THEN WATCH IT AGAIN.
No, i’m not kidding about watching it again. I watched the first two episodes twice to make sure I didn’t miss anything. Then I go online and read 4-5 different articles that summarize the episode to double check my double checking. Because every single sentence said in that show has weight behind it.
If you’re a hermit that doesn’t watch TV or talk to humans, and has zero idea what it’s about, i’ll quickly fill you in: Robots. A Western world set back in the day. Rich humans that visit this world and live out their fantasies. Robots slowly gaining consciousness. ** DUN DUN DUNNNNN**
3 Year Anniversary
Personally, I can hardly believe it myself, but Adam and I just celebrated spending 3 years together as a couple! It’s funny that even after 3 years, I still get excited when I see a text from him. We celebrated very low key, by having drinks at a Tiki bar and heading to a comedy show after. Oh, and he gave me the loveliest watch!
As there is no better way than to share your love than on Facebook, here it what I wrote:
I’d be the first to admit that I never expected to be in a long term relationship, but these past 3 years have proved just how wrong i could be. I can still count on one hand the number of arguments we’ve had, and the number of times I’ve heard you snore (both are key to a successful relationship). You’re the only one I’d buy and renovate a home with, get lost in IKEA with, become a cat parent with (even tho you’re a complete softy). Your support, patience and humour are incomparable. I’ve loved you ever since you made me laugh with the photo of the dancing taco<3
