The time has finallyyy come to show off one of the big announcements that I have been working on for the past 6 months or so. As you can see, things look a little different around here right now, and I mentioned it in my 2015 Recap that change was a’comin!
Although it is quite a bit different, it’s also a lot easier and intuitive to explore. There are two big changes that I made for my new website.
Born to Sweat
The first change is my new blog name // vision // state of mind
Even after I changed my domain to Sweaty & Fit, I knew that deep down I wasn’t 100% satisfied with how it sounded and what it stood for. For the past year I had been racking my brain for something that really represented myself and my values. ‘Born to Sweat’ came up after another evening brainstorm session on the couch, trying to figure out what exactly it was that I was trying to emphasize and re-create.
Born to Sweat is no longer simply a blog, or a place that I come to write my thoughts on my last meal (although that pizza I had last night was GREAT). I want it to become a place that you can come to for inspiration, ideas, and motivation. I want to help you consistently get stronger and confident, while learning to embrace any and all insecurities.
Born to Sweat speaks to me, because I used to be SO incredibly embarrassed at how much I sweat. Seriously! It sounds a little gross, and funny to think of now, but I used to hang out in bathrooms at school until I cooled down enough from walking to class. I slowly became more confident within my body the more that I trained. I learnt how to be stronger mentally, while I got stronger physically. Eventually I started to look at my sweating it in a positive light – it speaks to how fit you are as a person, while doing great things for your skin!
We are here not to sit back and be satisfied, but to want to always achieve more. I truly believe that if you have a body, all your health and fitness goals can be limitless, and I know that Born to Sweat recognizes that potential within us
The second change to my website is the layout, or ‘theme,’ overall.
As I mentioned in my 2015 Recap post, I have started moving away from video workout posts for particular reasons. As such, my old theme did not correspond with my new methods, and I wanted this to be reflected in the overall direction of the website.
While I will continue to share workouts as often as I can, I have found great success in many other posts as well – specifically the ones that talk about daily life in general, accomplishments throughout the year, and challenges that we may face on a day to day basis.
As you can see, my color theme has also changed! Gone are the days of pink4lyfe (although, pink will always be life), replaced with new colors that really represent my brand and blog. The website is much easier to navigate overall, and has a cleaner, crisp look. Truly, I am obsessed.
To wrap this up – I am extremely happy, excited, and looking forward to what Born to Sweat will bring. I hope that you continue with me on my fitness journey, and perhaps even share my new look with your family and friends!
