GUYS I’M BACK ON THE ‘TUBE!
I’ve been sneakily learning how to use Premiere Pro, and making a serious effort to film more recently, especially when we were just on vacation. Still getting used to talking to the camera in public, but hopefully it will just keep getting better and better from here. I have tons more ideas of things to share with you, so i’d love it if you guys watched and let me know your thoughts or anything you’d like to see from me! 🙂
I needed a vacation. Badly. So did Adam.
Last year every single one of my 15 vacation days were used for photo-shoots, flying to photo-shoots, or the 3 extra days I got to spend with my family at Christmas. (Wow, I sound like an spoilt BRAT in that sentence).
Adams 2016 vacation consisted of him getting so deathly sick, that he had to stay home from work for a week.
So yes. We needed a vacation.
We tried, TRIED to do Jamaica, but our hearts just weren’t in it. And by our hearts, I meant our wallets. Jamaica is… expensive!
We wanted a relaxing vacation – nothing too adventurous or in need of planning. Just some scuba, some sun, and some sweating. Cozumel it was. (Cozumel is a small island off of Mexico, so at least I didn’t sound like I was going to Mexico for the 49th time in my life).
Normally I get pretty antsy on vacation – I can’t sit around and sleep on a beach chair all day – so we split up our time by doing our PADI diving certificates. Adam did his Open Water course, and I did my Advanced Course! This was perfect because we spent one rainy afternoon reading the content/watching videos, and 3 mornings / afternoons of diving.
Proud Adam doing his first dive!
I spotted a Nurse Shark, sting rays, giant Grouper fish, and a MASSIVE lobster. Like the kind of lobster that would eat YOU, and not the other way round. It was bliss.
Hovering above the ocean floor, not moving a muscle except for the breath moving in and out of your lungs as got to be one of the most liberating feelings in the world.
What else to tell, what else…
I was super lucky because Seafolly sent me some more items from their newest collection, including some SEXY ASS bikinis and cover ups. I never used to be a fan of triangle tops, but then I saw how this one made me look like I actually had boobs and got excited.
In love with this suit & color!
Also can we give a shout-out to how frigging DOPE this workout outfit is?! I don’t know if I can force myself to sweat in it, or just wear it to get groceries…
Seafolly workout apparel on POINT!
I also wore this cover-up the entire time – a pair of $5 flip flops to wear it down to the beach, and my black & gold sandals for a nice dinner. It can switch between either!
How many bikinis do you take on vacation? I took one for each day, plus one more. Just in case they got wet 😉
Since we were diving so much, I didn’t get in as many workouts as I would have liked, but I’m actually glad it worked out that way. Most mornings we were at the dive shop by 8 am and back by 12 pm. Then we’d have the rest of the afternoon to do whatever – beach volleyball, read, throw the football, etc.
As for booze?
Adam and I barely touched a drop the entire trip, except for the last day when we had like 8 stiff cocktails.
I didn’t want to drink anything until I completed my diving course, and then for the last few days I just felt so FULL after lunch and dinner. I’m not the type of person who can have an entire meal and then go out drinking – i’ll just feel super bloated.
(And there was no way I was giving up my bowl of guacamole at lunch, i’ll tell you that right now).
So instead I sacrificed the drinking and sipped on water the entire week. I’m not mad about it either. I don’t go to all-inclusive’s for the excessive amount of free alcohol or for the incoherent conversations with wasted 60 year olds. I go for the beach, y’know? And the tan.
Anyway, I don’t want to go into much more detail and bore you for the rest of the post. More pictures below!
