Okay so realistically there is nothing Christmassy about this smoothie bowl, save for the fact that it is green. Like, who even eats smoothie bowls at this time of year? It’s cold outside! Realistically I should be eating warm oatmeal with warm raspberries in my warm housecoat.
But I ain’t, because Georgie from In It 4 The Long Run showed me how to make these bowls the RIGHT way, and now i’m obsessed. So bear with me, and eat your freezing cold breakfast in this freezing cold weather.
Recently I went Matcha crazy and bought two containers of it online. It was BOGO, and I will never turn down a BOGO deal, especially when it comes to that delicious green powder. And like i’ve mentioned, my smoothie bowl game has really stepped up, so I have been eating these bowls pretty much every morning and had to share them with you.
But first lets talk about Christmas! Is anyone else in awe that Christmas is literally 2 weeks away? If you’re friends with me on Facebook, you’ll know I acquired our Christmas tree about two weeks before December started. You don’t have to know all the details, but just know that I was the only one who thought it was a good idea to carry a tree 3 km home at 3 in the morning.
Anyway it’s nice and lit up in our living room, decorated with Dollaramas finest ornaments. The pine smell is maybe one of the loveliest scents in the world. You don’t have to go outside to be in nature! Just cut down trees and stick em in your home!
Our condo isn’t the only thing that is decorated this Christmas. Obviously we got Winston a little something too. Strangely he seems to like his collar and walks around proudly with it on. It’s so God damn cute I can’t stand it.
Anyway, backkkk to the Christmas notsoChristmassy Smoothie Bowl. What you’ll need is a food processor. If you don’t have a food processor, don’t even bother with step two, because it will NEVER look as creamy as this. Trust me, I have tried with all sorts of blenders. If you don’t have a food processor, then hurry up and stick it on your Christmas list, so we can all eat our smoothie bowls in creamy delight.
Secondly, you’ll need bananas, but they have to be frozen. Non frozen bananas are both super gross, and unable to create that amazing consistency that so resembles ice cream.
As for toppings, you can do what you wannnn’. But I normally go for some granola, almond butter, coconut, pumpkin and hemp seeds!
- 2 Frozen Bananas
- 1 tsp Matcha Powder
- 1/2 cup Almond Milk
- Almond Butter
- Shredded Coconut
- Pumpkin Seeds
- Hemp Seeds
- Place the smoothie ingredients into a food processor and process your heart out
- Pour into a bowl, and cover with toppings
- Pretend like it’s Christmassy, and try not to freeze as you eat it.
